A Winter Morning

It meets me unexpectedly at the door  An ethereal world of white.  With every step it fails to give  But it expands, and then surrounds me.   
In this moment purity forever binds me  In a promise whose depth I'll never know.  It whispers a treasure of age-old secrets  That I can only manage to half-catch.  
 
It playfulls toys with my vision  I know if I could just see a bit futher,  Or if my ears were a bit keener,  
I could catch sight of elves at play.   
And see castles rise in the distance  Or hear the clink of armor upon horse  And the call of a horn bi
